Panaji: Maharudra Taleigao produced a clinical all-round performance to register a commanding 80-run win over Amona Cricketers in the Betim United Trophy at SAG Ground, Campal, on Friday.

After being put in to bat, Maharudra posted a formidable 195/6 in their 20 overs, thanks to a series of solid contributions from the top and middle order. Sanat Mhapne led the charge with an unbeaten 48, while Gourav Desai (36), Gauresh Khandeparkar (35), Shishir Div (27) and Kiran Shirvoikar (18*) ensured the scoreboard kept ticking. Amona’s bowlers struggled to contain the flow of runs, with Dinu Gawas (2/43) and Aniket Parab (2/27) among the wickets, though both were expensive.

Chasing 196 for victory, Amona Cricketers never found any momentum and limped to 115/8 in their 20 overs. Vinay Amonkar top-scored with a gritty 29*, while Devesh Tari (28) and Swaraj Phadte (23) made brief cameos. However, the disciplined Maharudra bowling unit kept the pressure on throughout. Nikhil Divgikar (2/11) and Kiran Shirvoikar (2/18) bowled tight spells, while Gauresh Khandeparkar (2/21) and Sanat Mhapne (1/31) chipped in to seal a comprehensive win.

Gauresh Khandeparkar, whose all-round effort turned the tide, was named Player of the Match by Rupesh Narvekar.
