Chapora: Manorva SCC secured a resounding 140-run win over Sakura CC in the GCA Division B Bardez Zone clash at the Panchayat Ground, Chapora, on Sunday.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Manorva posted an imposing 254/9 in their allotted 45 overs. Yash Porob starred with a brilliant century, scoring a composed 104. He was well-supported by Rohan Chauhan, who contributed a brisk 66, while Kaushik Pednekar (29) and Ashvesh Dabholkar (21) chipped in with useful runs. Sakura’s bowling unit, led by Satyam Gawas (3-61) and Ramesh Gawas (3-45), toiled hard but couldn’t prevent Manorva from putting up a challenging total.
In reply, Sakura CC’s chase faltered from the outset, with wickets tumbling in quick succession. Sankalp Gawas top-scored with 26, while Arjun Satelkar (17) and Sachin Gawas (13) provided brief resistance. However, Manorva’s bowlers were relentless, dismantling the Sakura batting lineup in just 18.4 overs.
Rohan Chauhan shone with the ball as well, taking 4/38 to complete an excellent all-round performance. Kaushik Pednekar (3-30) and Rohan Bhonsle (2-25) complemented him perfectly, while Sameer Chodankar chipped in with 1/9 to wrap up the innings for 114.
Rohan Chauhan was deservedly named Player of the Match for his exceptional contributions with both bat and ball.
