Dempo SC eased past Churchill Brothers 2-0 in the Goa Professional League at Ella ground on Saturday.

Dempo’s Mevan Dias scored a brace while Haokip pulled one back for Churchill Brothers.

Dempo SC capitalized on an early opportunity thanks to a moment of brilliance from Sairon Albuquerque. The centre-back launched a precise long ball from his own half, targeting Meven Dias. In an attempt to intercept, Churchill’s defender Atharv inadvertently deflected the ball, creating chaos as it slipped past the advancing goalkeeper. With the ball rolling dangerously towards an empty net, Churchill skipper Lesly made a desperate attempt to clear it off the line. However, Mevan was quick to pounce, ensuring Dempo seized the lead.
