Bhubaneshwar: A regional conference/workshop on CEA regulations/technical standards was held in Bhubaneshwar by Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Union Ministry of Power, in collaboration with POWERGRID.
The workshop saw the participation of over 80 senior officials, experts, and delegates from state power utilities as well as private sector power utilities including ERPC, ERLDC, POWERGRID, NTPC, OPTCL, OPGC, TPCODL, TPSODL, TPNODL, others from Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, IPPs of eastern region and other stakeholders.
Praveen Gupta, member (thermal), member (E&C), CEA and ex-officio additional secretary to the government of India, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Gupta urged the attendees to take this opportunity for enhancing their know-how about CEA regulations and technical standards. The objective of CEA regulations and standards is to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency in Indian grid, he emphasised.
that the workshop offer participants a valuable platform to share their feedback and practical experience with CEA which contribute towards the betterment of the power sector.
Technical sessions covered critical topics such as importance of CEA regulations for the power sector, cybersecurity in the sector guidelines/draft regulation, technical standards for construction of electrical plants (Thermal) and flexible operation of coal-based thermal power generating units regulations and other aspects.
