Every year, many aim to transform their lives with New Year’s resolutions. NT KURIOCITY catches up with youngsters to see if they’ve made any resolutions and whether they’re sticking to their plans so far

My 2025 resolutions act as a compass for self-improvement. I’ve started learning Italian on Duolingo, committed to working out five days a week, and decided to make healthier food choices. My goal is to be more productive, fit, and healthy. A few weeks in, I’m on track and feeling motivated. Each resolution is a promise I’ve made to myself, and so far, it’s been rewarding.”

I have decided to take a digital detox for two hours each day and spend half an hour connecting with nature. I also shifted my eating habits by choosing healthier foods over junk food. Initially, adjusting was challenging, especially with the constant lure of screens and convenience foods. However, with consistent effort, these changes are becoming a natural part of my routine. It’s been refreshing to feel more mindful, energised, and in tune with my body and surroundings.”

One of my resolutions is to prioritise my health. I have also planned to exercise more regularly, eat healthier, and cook more at home. So far, I’ve been trying new recipes and meal prepping on weekends, which has been both fun and rewarding. I feel more in control of my diet and am really enjoying the process.”

At the institution where I studied, Shree Shantadurga Gurukul, Kavlem, there’s a tradition called ‘Varsharambh’, where every student, without exception, declares five New Year’s resolutions and is held accountable for fulfilling them. With this in mind, I’ve decided to join a gym and improve my health and lifestyle. In the beginning, enthusiasm runs high, but waking up early in this chilly weather has proven difficult. While I’ve missed a few days, I continue to push forward. To help me sleep better and have a peaceful mind, I’ve also started meditating.”

This year, I didn’t set a traditional resolution but have three goals. First, I want to become a more engaging speaker so that people genuinely enjoy listening to me. Second, I am focused on building a successful career and achieving financial growth. Lastly, I aim to gain knowledge that directly contributes to my career development. These goals are not just for the year but part of a larger journey of self-improvement, and I’m taking steps to make them a reality.”
