Panaji: The Goa unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated its 46th Foundation Day on Sunday at the party’s head office in the city, dedicating the party’s success to its ‘karyakartas’ and reaffirming its commitment to the guiding principle of ‘Nation first, party second and self last’.
“On this momentous occasion of the 46th Sthapana Diwas, we pay heartfelt tribute to the visionary leaders who laid the foundation of the BJP, an organisation rooted in the ideals of Nation-first, good governance and antyodaya. We salute the unwavering dedication of our karyakartas, whose tireless efforts and selfless service, continue to strengthen the party across every level,” said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
He further said, “As we move ahead with unity and purpose, let us reaffirm our commitment to serve the people of India and work towards a brighter, more empowered future for every citizen. Together, let us stand united in our mission to serve the people of Bharat”.
“On this momentous occasion, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the guiding principle of Nation first, party second, self last, and rededicate ourselves to the ideals of Antyodaya, Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas – as we collectively strive towards the vision of a Viksit Bharat”, he added. Sawant also underscored the contribution of Jagannathrao Joshi of Bharatiya Jana Sangh during Goa’s Liberation movement. Highlighting the development in the state in the last 10 years, Sawant said that the party’s work will remain forever.
Union Minister and North Goa Member of Parliament (MP) Shripad Naik said that in the last 11 years, since the BJP came to power, people have seen the development in the country. Party workers have dedicated their life to the party.
“They have worked day and night without coming in the limelight and because of them the party stands strong”, said Naik dedicating the party’s success to the karyakartas.
However, Naik said that the nation is lagging behind due to the Congress party, which during its 65 years of governance did not work in the interest of the Nation.
“Congress party’s politics was only with intention to come to power. It did nothing in the interest of the country,” said Naik.
He also said that the Congress party was the first to make amendments to the Constitution, and it was only to stay in power.
“But whatever changes that were made recently by the BJP government were keeping in mind the current situation and in the interest of the people and the Nation”, he said.
Remembering the party stalwarts, the state BJP president Damu Naik said that the party has grown over the years. “By 2047, which is 100 years of India’s independence, our nation will be number one, ‘Viksit Bharat as envisaged by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.
