Panaji: The state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Damu Naik on Tuesday said that the party has penned down the performances of the state ministers and handed it over to the party leadership in view of the future advancement of the BJP in Goa.

“The state BJP unit has presented its view in this respect with its central leadership,” he added.

The state BJP president further admitted that despite the BJP government in Goa enjoying stability and less than 24 months left for the state assembly elections, cabinet reshuffle has become the need of the hour.

Naik was addressing reporters after the workers’ meet held in the city, which was attended by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, cabinet ministers, BJP MLAs and party office bearers, besides karyakartas.

The workers’ meet discussed the celebration of the BJP Foundation day on April 6 and observing Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on April 14. The Foundation Day celebration is expected to continue for a week.

The meet also conversed about the One Nation, One Election Bill as well as the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, to propagate the correct views about these proposed legislations.

In his briefing, Naik said that many programmes have been organised by the party’s state unit to celebrate the BJP Foundation day, including hoisting the party flag on the houses of BJP supporters and distributing sweets.

“Among other programmes, we will hold Atal Virasat Sammelan in memory of Atal Behari Vajpayee on April 7 and also organise an event for active members of the party on April 8 in South Goa and April 9 in North Goa,” he added, pointing out that five activities pertaining social service would be taken up in rural areas from April 7 to 12 under the ‘Gaon/Basti Chalo Abhiyan’.

The state BJP president further mentioned that on April 15, two district level seminars would be organised to inform the public how Congress Party had humiliated Dr B R Ambedkar and how BJP had respectfully reinstated his deserving position.
