Veling Cricketers rode on a blistering knock by opener Pritesh Naik to register a commanding eight-wicket win over Pilerne Cricket Club in the Betim United Trophy at the SAG ground, Campal, on
Thursday.
Chasing a modest target of 105, Veling made light work of the total, romping home in just 9.1 overs with eight wickets to spare. Pritesh Naik remained unbeaten on a quickfire 42, well-supported by Urvesh Redkar (31) and Sankalp Prabhu (13*) as the Veling top order dominated from the outset.
Earlier, Pilerne CC could only muster 104/9 in their allotted 20 overs after opting to bat first. Pramod Naik (31), Nandan Toraskar (21), and Viraj Malik (21) provided some resistance, but Veling’s bowlers kept things tight throughout. Rohish Sangaonkar (2/12) and Venkatesh Prabhugaonkar (2/21) led the charge with the ball, while Sankalp Prabhu (1/4) and Sarvesh Kunkalikar (1/20) chipped in with crucial breakthroughs.
