Royal CC emerged as the All-Goa state champions, securing a commanding 41-run victory over SWC Zaino in the GCA Division C final at Panjim Gymkhana on Monday.
After being put in to bat, Royal CC posted a competitive 221 before being bowled out in 38.4 overs. Dashrath Chavan led the charge with a sublime 98, narrowly missing out on a century. He was well-supported by Y Barde (27), Pranav Dhanawade (25), and Ravindra Barve (20). SWC Zaino’s bowlers put up a strong fight, with Nagesh Rekdo (3-27), Dhanraj Shetkar (2-35), and Ramkrishna Borkar (2-29) among the wickets.
In response, SWC Zaino faltered in their chase, getting bowled out for 180 in 35.4 overs. Rajdeep Fatarpekar top-scored with a gritty 53, while Felix Dias (31) and Rahul Bhonsle (20) provided some resistance. However, Royal CC’s bowlers ensured their side’s triumph, with Ravindra Barve (3-37), Arun Wagji (2-29), and the all-rounder Chavan (2-22) delivering crucial breakthroughs.
Chavan’s all-round heroics earned him the Player of the Match award as Royal CC lifted the GCA Division C title.
