A 42-year-old Russian national, Roman Boyko, was found dead in a rented room in Siolim on Friday.

Anjuna Police has ruled out any foul play in the incident.

Anjuna Police Inspector, Santana Fernandes, said the caretaker of a property located at Pereira Waddo, Siolim, informed the police that her tenant had been found unresponsive.

A police team immediately visited the location and discovered Boyko’s body in the toilet, seated on the commode. The deceased was identified by his friend, Alexander Kosherenko, also a Russian national, as Roman Boyko. Preliminary investigations revealed that Boyko had been living in the rented house – owned by Pertornila Ana Nirmala and managed by caretaker Santana Fernandes since November 2024,
the PI added.

During the enquiry, Kosherenko informed the police that Boyko had been suffering from a pancreatic illness for the past year, he said adding no external injuries or suspicious items were found at the scene.

The body has been shifted to the Goa Medical College morgue in Bambolim for medico-legal
formalities.

Police said that based on current evidence, no foul play is suspected
in the death.
