Hosts Salcete FC prevailed over Sporting Clube de Goa 2-1 in the inaugural match of the Salcete Football Club U-14 football tournament at Sinquetim on Friday.

Sporting Clube de Goa took early control of the proceedings and opened the scoring as their striker Faizal Rehman scored from just outside the penalty box.

Salcete came back into the game and equalized just before the end of the first half through Amit Morya.

As the match appeared to be headed for a draw, Valinken Carvalho scored the match winner for Salcete FC. Morrisson Rocha was adjudged the Man of the Match by Armando Colaco.

In the second match FC Goa defeated Dempo Sports Club by a solitary goal scored in the second half.

Ludovico scored from the spot with a well-directed kick which gave the rival goalkeeper no chance.

FC Goa’s Ludovico was awarded the Man of the Match by Savio Medeira.
