Panaji: Inacio Domnic Pereira, a member of the Santa Cruz village panchayat, has submitted a petition to the Director of Education Shailesh Zingade, urging a correction in the jurisdictional designation of the Cujira Integrated School Complex, which he alleged is wrongly identified as part of Bambolim.

Pereira said the land on which the school complex is built belongs to the Santa Cruz panchayat and lies within the Santa Cruz assembly constituency.

He alleged that many schools in the complex currently list “Cujira, Bambolim” as their official address, which is factually incorrect and misleading.

“This misrepresentation disrespects the local residents and elders of Santa Cruz, who generously gave up their land for the development of the complex,” Pereira said.

He also cited a past issue involving the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, the Athletic Stadium, and the Sports Authority of Goa office, which were previously misattributed to Bambolim. That matter, Pereira said, was resolved after a formal review, and a circular dated July 4 by the Sports Authority of Goa confirmed their location in Santa Cruz.

Pereira said the same corrective action should now be applied to the school complex. He urged the Directorate of Education to issue an official notification reflecting the accurate address for all institutions within the Cujira Integrated School Complex.
