Sachidanand Satelkar nets a hattrick in their 7-1 win

Mapusa: Sesa FA decimated Panjim Footballers 7-1 in the Goa Professional League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa on Thursday.

Panjim struck first in the 6th minute through Benwin, who finished after a Veron through ball. Sesa responded quickly, leveling in the 7th minute with Savlon Fernandes’ header from a Vignesh Naik cross. Sachidanand Satelkar put Sesa ahead with a header from a Mahammed Faheez free-kick. Faheez then scored from the penalty spot after being fouled in the box. In stoppage time, Sachidanand scored his second with a first-time finish off a Faheez pass. The second half saw Sachidanand complete his hat-trick, followed by Clencio Pinto’s finish from a Faheez assist and Omkar Shetgaonkar’s deflected strike from outside the box. Panjim earned a penalty late, but Satish Kankonkar’s attempt was saved by Sapam Singh, sealing Sesa’s 7-1 victory.

Panjim Footballers wasted no time asserting their dominance, as Veron’s incisive through ball from midfield carved open the Sesa defense, setting up Benwin to calmly dribble past the backline and slot home in the 6th minute.

Sesa quickly bounced back from the early blow, leveling the score just a minute later. Vignesh Naik delivered a pinpoint cross from the right flank to the far post, where Savlon Fernandes rose high to head it home and bring his side back on terms.

Fueled by the equalizer, Sesa seized the lead through Sachidanand Satelkar. A perfectly delivered curling free-kick from Mohammed Faheez on the left flank found Sachidanand unmarked in the box, and he made no mistake, powering a header into the net to put his side ahead.

Sesa kept up the intensity, and their efforts soon paid off. Mohammed Faheez was brought down in the box by Panjim’s Vinayak Shibu, earning his side a penalty. Faheez stepped up to the spot with confidence and coolly slotted the ball into the bottom right corner to extend Sesa’s advantage.

Sesa continued their relentless assault, capping off the first half in style. In stoppage time, Mohammed Faheez delivered a precise low pass from the left flank into the box, where Sachidanand Satelkar hammered it home with a sublime first-time finish, securing a 4-1 lead at the break.
