Sindarov, Yi head to tie-breaks

The FIDE World Cup final between Wei Yi and  Javokhir Sindarov will be decided in tiebreaks after the second classical game also ended in a draw.

After drawing the opener with black, Wei repeated the same line Sindarov used in his semifinal and the players agreed to a quick draw after the mandatory

30 moves.

In third-place playoff, Yakubboe pushed early but handed Esipenko the initiative by move 11. The Russian then forced resignation in 26 moves.
