Sporting stay on top; FC Goa held to a draw

Mapusa: Sporting Clube de Goa maintained their lead at the top of the Goa Pro League standings after a 1-1 draw against Sesa FA at Duler Stadium.

Sesa FA took the lead through Shridharnath, who found the net in the 45th minute. Sporting Clube de Goa equalised through Doyal Alves.

Myran, Sapam, Faheez, and Beckham were booked for Sesa, while Joyner and Joyson received yellow cards for Sporting Clube de Goa.

Following the result, Sporting moved to 42 points from 18 matches, maintaining their position at the top, while Sesa FA moved to 33 points from 19 matches.

Meanwhile, at the Nagoa ground, Cortalim Villagers and FC Goa played out a 1-1 draw.

Norman Dias put Cortalim ahead in the 47th minute, but FC Goa restored parity through Lalthangliana in the 80th minute.

Ronil and Velroy were cautioned for Cortalim, while Konsam, Gogocha, and Asher picked up yellow cards for FC Goa.

FC Goa moved to 32 points from 19 matches, while Cortalim Villagers finished their campaign with 26 points from 20 matches. They have secured the seventh position on the standings.
