Morjim

Assonora XI cruised into the semifinals of the 2nd All-Goa Panchayat and Municipality Heavy Ball Cricket Tournament with a commanding 21-run victory over Dada Maharaja Cricketer’s at Morjim on Friday.

Opting to bat first, Assonora XI posted a competitive 60/4 in their six overs, powered by Vishant Assonodkar’s brisk 20, along with key contributions from Vivek Vaigankar (19) and Punaji Kalangutkar (10). Despite a disciplined effort from Dada Maharaja’s bowling unit—led by Sunny Gaude (2/14), Shriniwas Phadte (1/8), and Rohit Parpati (1/13)—Assonora XI managed to put up a challenging total.

In response, Dada Maharaja Cricketer’s struggled against a disciplined Assonora bowling attack and could only muster 39/7. Kishore Parpati top-scored with 18, but his lone effort wasn’t enough as Namdev Banaulikar (2/4), Rohan Salgaonkar (2/18), Punaji Kalangutkar (1/6), and Prajyot Pednekar (2/8) ran riot with the ball.

For his all-round performance, Vishant Assonodkar was named Man of the Match and received the award from Swapnil Shetgaonkar.
