Chowgule CC crush Dempo by 125 runs

Porvorim: Chowgule SC registered a 125-run victory over Dempo CC in their third-round Goa Premier Division League clash, wrapping up the three-day contest inside two days at Porvorim.

Set a target of 268, Dempo failed to mount a challenge and were bowled out for 142 in 28.4 overs. Abhinav Tejrana top-scored with 37 as the rest of the batting line-up faltered under pressure.

Earlier, Chowgule, resuming their second innings at 16 for 3, were dismissed for 150 in 34.5 overs, with Dempo’s  Tejrana impressing with a five-wicket haul. However, the modest target proved beyond Dempo as off-spinner Shubham Desai (6/55) and Darshan Misal (4/71) shared all ten wickets to seal Chowgule the win.

Misal was named Player of the Match for his all-round contribution.

Meanwhile, at Sanguem, Geno SC moved into a strong position against Margao CC, securing a first-innings lead of 106 runs. Manthan Khutkar (94) and captain Samar Dubhashi (77) led the charge. Margao reached 49 for 1 in their second innings, still trailing by 57 runs.

At Sankhali, Salgaocar CC piled up a massive 530 in their first innings against Panjim Gymkhana. Captain Yash Kasvankar narrowly missed a double century, scoring 191, while Rithwik Naik remained unbeaten on 54. In reply, Panjim Gymkhana were well placed at 112 for 1, with Ishan Gadekar (54) and Suyash Prabhudesai (58 not out) putting on a solid opening stand.
