Clube De Salgaocar eased past Chpora Yuvak Sangh 3-1 in the GPL Super League at Vagator ground on Saturday.
With the win Salgaocar moved to the top of the table with 35 points from 16 matches while Chapora remained in the eighth position with 19 points from the same.
Salgaocar opened the scoring in the 23rd minute through Joshua D’Silva and carried the advantage into the break.
Royson Colaco extended the lead in the 63rd minute, but Chapora responded quickly when Cyprian Rodrigues reduced the deficit a minute later. Colaco struck again in the 66th minute to restore the two-goal cushion and secure the points for Salgaocar.
In the Relegation League, Goa Police edge past Churchill Brothers 1-0 at Benaulim ground.
With the win, Goa Police strengthened their position with 25 points from 16 games while Churchill Brothers remained in the 13th position with 12 points. Raunak Toraskar’s lone strike secured Goa Police the three points and a 1-0 win.
