Mapusa: Dempo SC and Sesa FA played out a hard-fought goalless draw in the Reliance Foundation Development League Zonal Qualifiers at the Duler Stadium on Sunday.

Dempo SC started brightly, pressing high in the opening ten minutes and creating opportunities to breach the Sesa defense. Despite their early dominance, the Golden Eagles couldn’t capitalize on their chances.

In the 33rd minute, Dempo’s Dimngel was cautioned with a yellow card for a reckless challenge on a Sesa midfielder, adding an edge to the contest.

The second half saw Sesa FA grow into the game, piling on the pressure in search of the decisive goal. However, Dempo’s defense stood resolute, thwarting every attempt to keep the scoreline intact.

The encounter did see a few heated exchanges, with five players finding the ire of the refree for poor play.

For Dempo SC, Chinkhosiam Dimgangel and Rahul Rodrigues found their name in the referees book while hockchom Singh, Cain Fernandes and Brandan Pereira saw yellow for Sesa FA.

At the final whistle, neither side managed to break the deadlock. Dempo’s Myrick Hilario was named Man of the Match for his standout performance.
