DMC clinch men’s volleyball title

Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre, Assagao triumphed in the men’s section of the Inter-Collegiate Volleyball Championship 2025-26 organised by Goa University after a 3-0 win over over Shree Mallikarjun and Shri Chetan Manju Desai College of Arts & Commerce, Canacona in the final at Goa University ground, Taleigao.

DM’s Assagao were relentless from the outset, controlling the tempo with sharp serves and disciplined net play to wrap up the contest in straight sets.

In the semifinals, Assagao blanked Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Sanquelim 3-0, while the Canacona outfit defeated Dempo Charities Trust’s Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College of Commerce & Economics, Cujira by an identical margin to set up the final clash.

Ashwek Gawade of DM’s College Assagao was named Best Player for his influential performa.

The championship witnessed participation from 33 men’s teams over four days.

The winning squad included Sushiv Pandey, Hrugved Nagvekar, Yatish Morajkar, Jaiwant Naik, Jeet Gaonkar, T
anoj Tilve, Rajat Parsekar, Krushank Sawal, Prabal Sawant, Rishi Satoskar, Swayam Singh, Yesh Parab, Manish Naik and Ashwek Gawade.
