Goa Velha: Guardian Angel Sports Club secured a 3-2 comeback victory against Assonora United Football Club in the 17th London Trophy Inter Village Football Tournament at Goa Velha on Sunday.

Assonora struck first through Vineet Bugde who capitalized on goalkeeper Russel Fernandes’ positioning error.

Guardian Angel missed a leveller when Godwin Fernandes fired over the crossbar from close range. Jason Dias eventually equalized with a tap-in at the 28-minute mark execued off a brilliant solo run from the centre line.

Jovian Conceicao restored Assonora’s lead with a clever chip just two minutes later.

Assonora United FC led 2-1 at the break.

The second half witnessed Guardian Angel’s tactical resurgence.

Adrian Gomes squandered a golden opportunity in the 40th minute before Jaison Dias turned the match with a spectacular solo run, finishing clinically to equalise.

Despite heading wide  with only the keeper to beat, Jaison soon after completed his hat-trick with the decisive strike in the 64th minute of play.

Assonora’s late surge was thwarted by Fernandes’ brilliant save from substitute Prajot Arabekar’s effort. Vishan Asnodkar received a caution for a reckless challenge.

Jaison Dias was named Man of the Match by Adolf Caiado for his match-winning performance and game-changing treble.
