Debutants Saraswat Tigers opened their Sarsangan Priority Super Series campaign with a five-wicket victory over MLT Cricket Club at the Arlem Ground.
Asked to bat first, MLT Cricket Club were rocked early by Mehank Dharwadkar, who produced a fiery spell of 3 for 4 in three overs. The innings was rebuilt through Sarvesh Kamat (34), Gaurav Gaitonde (36) and Raghuvir Gharse (35), guiding the side to 163 for 6 in 20 overs. Neelay Naik Dalal and Mahesh Churi claimed a wicket each.
Saraswat Tigers made a flying start in the chase as Neelay Naik Dalal (31) and Deval Karmali (34) stitched a rapid 69-run opening stand in just 26 balls. Atchut Naik Dalal struck 36 while Dharwadkar added 21 to steer the side to 164 for 5 in 15.2 overs.
Rajat Dalal (3-13) led the bowling effort for MLT Cricket Club, with Sarvesh Kamat picking up two wickets. Mehank Dharwadkar was named the Man of the Match.
