Taleigao: Vidya Prabodhini College and Shree Damodar College delivered commanding performances in the Inter-Collegiate Women’s Cricket Champiionship, securing emphatic victories over Rosary College and Goa College of Music, respectively.

In the opening clash, Vidya Prabodhini College Porvorim dismantled Rosary College Navelim by 10 wickets. Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Prabodhini’s bowling attack led by Pooja Gupta (2/3) and Ruchi Kumbhar (2/8) restricted Rosary to a modest 53/7 in 10 overs. Despite fighting efforts from Velisa Rebelo (11) and Mamta Kumari (10), Rosary struggled to accelerate. In response, Prabodhini chased down the target with ease in just 5.4 overs, powered by a blistering knock from Ruchi Kumbhar (30*). Nethra Lamani (7*) provided steady support as Prabodhini cruised to victory without losing a wicket. Kumbhar’s all-round show earned her the Best Player award.

Meanwhile, Shree Damodar College Margao outclassed Goa College of Music Altinho with a resounding 63-run win. After electing to bat first, Damodar posted a competitive 99/2 in their 10 overs, thanks to Tamanna Shaikh’s explosive 33 and Ishika Nayar’s steady 18. Pradnya Chari (1/7) and Pratima Salgaocar (1/15) picked up a wicket each for GC Music, but the total proved too steep. In the chase, Goa College of Music faltered, managing just 36/2 in their allotted overs. Pradnya Chari top-scored with 12, while Eshwari Borkar (1/3) kept the pressure on with a disciplined spell.
