Raia: St Anthony Sports Club Assolda edged out hosts Raia Sporting Club 2-1 in the 52nd Custodio Memorial Cup at Raia panchayat ground on Saturday.
Sildon Peixoto put St Anthony SC ahead in the 30th minute. Raia SC responded strongly and found their equaliser through Joyson Gauncar in the 59th minute.
But it was Fhezer Gomes who proved decisive, netting the winner in the 65th minute to seal St Anthony’s passage to the next round. Assolda’s Fhezer Gomes was awarded the Man of the Match by Johnny Crasto.
