St Savio Sports Club Calangute clinched a narrow 7-6 win via tie-breaker over Sinquerim Sports Club, after a 1-1 draw in the 3rd Rosary Cup Mandrem Soccer Tournament 2025, at the Mandrem Village Panchayat
ground on Monday.

The game began with both teams trying to break the deadlock but failing to score in the first half. St. Savio took the lead in the 35th minute of the second half through Dominic Fernandes, who struck a fine goal. However, Sinquerim SC responded just four minutes later when Gopal Gaddi netted the equaliser.

Despite several close chances from both ends, the goalkeepers stood strong, denying any further goals during regular time.

With the score locked at 1-1, the match moved into a penalty shootout, where St. Savio Calangute held their nerve to win 7-6. Their goalkeeper’s efforts proved crucial in the tense shootout phase.

Dominic Fernandes was awarded for scoring the match’s opening goal, while Philip Coutinho was named Man of the Match for his standout performance. The award was presented by Jeremia Kuyel.
