Every village must become self-sufficient to achieve the vision of ‘Swayampurna Goem’, and students have a vital role to play in this goal, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said.
He said that creating awareness about village development is essential, and this responsibility must be shared by locals, students, and their families. Villages can become self-reliant through agriculture, milk production, fisheries, and other means, he added. “That is our aim, and the government is ready to provide all possible help for this,” Sawant said.
Sawant said that if such collective efforts are made, the dream of a truly developed Goa and self-sufficient villages can become a reality.
The Chief Minister was addressing students and villagers at Surla on Saturday during an interaction held as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Gaavchalo campaign, organised on the occasion of the party’s Foundation Day celebrations. BJP Sankhali Mandal president Rama Naik, panch member Gopal Surlikar and others were present.
Naik urged people to work with foresight and commitment to make their village self-reliant. He said that villagers should come together to prepare a clear roadmap for self-sufficiency in vegetable cultivation and other areas, aligned with the Green and White Revolutions.
