Panaji: The Ro-Ro ferryboat Dwarka, plying on the Ribandar-Chorao route, stopped mid-stream

after a net and rope got entangled in the propeller, leaving the commuters stranded.

“The incident occurred at about 3.30 pm when the Ro-Ro ferryboat stopped mid-stream after a net and a rope got entangled in its propeller. The Ro-Ro ferryboat was towed to the ramp with the help of the other Ro-Ro ferryboat,” said River Navigation Director Vikramsinh Rajebhosale.

“The net was removed by 7.30 pm, and the Ro-Ro was deployed on the route again,” he said.

After the Ro-Ro ferryboat was stopped, three conventional ferryboats, along with one Ro-Ro ferryboat, Gangotri, were deployed on the route so that people are not inconvenienced.
