MEHER CASTELINO

The name Archana Jaju is synonymous with textiles and presenting them in their traditional form and heritage. The designs by Archana move seamlessly from the beauty of traditional saris and then onto garments and festive as well as bridal wear. Hand painted Kalamkari appears in an unconventional manner on the beautiful fabrics turning them into heirloom pieces. The designer’s emphasis on Kalamkari has given the craft a great fashionable thrust up the style ladder.  Jaju also loves working with Kanjeevaram silks as well as Chanderi and Paithani weaves that she embellishes with the various hand painted techniques. The designs by Jaju are a favourite of not only celebrities but also many Bollywood stars.  Based in Hyderabad the designer works with several clusters of artisans all over India and ensures that their crafts are presented in the best possible manner with innovative touches and contemporary silhouettes. The numerous lehenga, choli, dupatta trios, as well as tunics, kurtas and dresses have the characteristic Archana Jaju touch, which is favoured by the fashion forward women in India.
