Merchants at the Tisk-Usgao PDA Market have announced a complete shutdown on March 4, in protest against the deteriorating condition of the road leading to the market.

They have demanded immediate repairs, citing severe business disruptions and health hazards caused by dust
pollution.

According to members of the Merchants’ Association, repeated requests and a written application since 2022 have been ignored by the
government.

The situation has worsened due to extensive digging for underground electrical wiring, leading to excessive dust pollution.

Traders said they have suffered financial losses from damaged goods and health issues such as respiratory problems. With nearly 200 shops and vendors operating in the area, the merchants have urged authorities to take urgent action to restore the road and address dust pollution.
