Vedanta Sesa Goa-Value Added Business (VAB) is promoting women’s participation in technical fields by awarding scholarships to 11 girls pursuing ITI courses in Diesel Mechanic, Electrical, Instrument Mechanic, and Machinist at Sesa Technical School (STS).

Part of Project Vriddhi and the #IronLadiesIndia’25 campaign, this initiative provides financial aid, mentorship, and industry exposure to help women build careers in traditionally male-dominated fields.

As part of their orientation, the scholarship recipients had the opportunity to interact with CEO of VAB, Leena Verenkar, and head of CSR at Sesa Goa, Saptesh Sardesai. These sessions provided insights into industry expectations and career preparedness. The trainees also engaged with other
Vedanta executives.

Sardesai stated, “Education and skill development are key to empowerment. Our scholarship programme creates opportunities for women to break barriers and thrive in technical industries.”

With a legacy of over 2,000 graduates and a 100% placement record, STS introduced women’s technical courses in 2023, with its first batch graduating in 2024 with
a 100% pass rate.
