Goa Police have launched an inquiry after a video went viral on social media, accusing officers at a border check post in North Goa of not issuing a challan despite receiving a fine payment for a traffic violation.
A senior police officer told ‘The Navhind Times’ that the matter is under examination.
The video, posted by tourists, claims that a policeman took Rs 500 from them for a traffic violation but failed to provide a receipt for the fine.
The tourists, dissatisfied with the lack of documentation, demanded the receipt, which led to the video being shared online. While police are investigating this incident, another video has surfaced on social media showing a man in ‘khadi’ uniform allegedly soliciting money from a truck driver at a different check post.
