Old Goa police arrested 10 unauthorised hawkers during a drive to clear vendors obstructing traffic along National Highway 748 from Merces to Banastarim.

Police said the arrested hawkers included those selling fish, chairs and other articles.

Police said the drive was conducted on November 13 and 14 to remove blockages caused by vendors along the roadside, with the aim of ensuring smooth traffic flow for the public.

Police said that on November 13, five unauthorised hawkers were held for obstructing traffic by selling chairs and fish along the Kadamba plateau in Old Goa. On November 14, another five unauthorised hawkers were held for selling plastic chairs and other items along the highway at Dhulapi, Corlim.
