In two separate incidents, Colvale police rescued minor girls who were allegedly kidnapped from a child care and protection home in Tivim.

In the first case, a complaint was lodged by the incharge of the centre on April 18 stating that 6-year-old girl had been kidnapped from the institution. Colvale Police registered an offence under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act.

Police traced the missing girl and safely rescued from Marcel on Monday.

In a similar incident reported earlier this year, on January 31, the incharge had lodged a complaint stating that on January 30 at around 8.15 pm, two minor girls, aged 13 and 15, were kidnapped from the same child care home by unidentified persons.

Based on the information received through human sources and mobile surveillance, a police team was dispatched to Delhi. One of the two missing girls, aged 13, was successfully located and brought back to the police station on Monday.
