Calangute Association eased past Churchill Brothers 2-0 in the Goa Professional League at SAG ground, Benaulim on Thursday.
Vishesh Nasnodkar unlocked the Churchill defense with a precise through ball, setting up Samuel D’Souza, who chipped past the onrushing goalkeeper to break the deadlock before halftime.
The second half saw Calangute double their lead when Richard Cardoz threaded a pass from midfield to Jovito Fernandes. The forward took a composed first touch before calmly slotting home. Despite a late push from Churchill Brothers, Calangute’s defense held firm to secure all three points.
Meanwhile, at Duler Stadium, Sesa FA overpowered Pax of Nagoa 4-2, with Mohammed Faheez stealing the show with a stunning four-goal haul. Nagoa pulled two back through Jesloy Moniz and Joseph Clemente, but it wasn’t enough to deny Sesa a commanding victory.
