Serbian playmaker Nikola Stojanovic produced a moment of magic in the 77th minute, curling in a sublime free-kick to hand Inter Kashi a hard-fought 1-0 victory over a resolute 10-man Delhi FC in the 2024-25 I-League at the Coach Ali Hassan Stadium on Wednesday.

With the win, Antonio Lopez Habas’ men surged to the top of the table with 31 points from 16 matches, while Delhi FC’s struggles continued as they remain rooted to the bottom with just 10 points from as many games. Their winless streak has now stretched to 10 matches, putting them under mounting pressure to avoid relegation.

The game took a dramatic turn just before halftime when Delhi FC goalkeeper Debnath Mondal was sent off for a reckless challenge on Matija Babovic, leaving the hosts down to 10 men.

Inter Kashi, who entered the contest as favorites, found it difficult to break through Delhi FC’s compact defense. Despite dominating possession, they lacked a cutting edge in the final third, with wingers Bryce Miranda and Narayan Das delivering quality crosses but failing to find a decisive touch from the forwards.
