Raia

Churchill Brothers stormed back to the summit of the I-League 2024-25 table with a commanding 3-1 victory over Rajasthan United FC at the Raia Ground on Saturday. Trijoy Savio Dias stole the show with a superb brace, while Stendly Fernandes added the finishing touch to secure a crucial three points for the Red Machines.

The win propels Churchill Brothers to 31 points from 17 matches, edging past Inter Kashi on goal difference. However, their closest rivals have a game in hand and will face Real Kashmir FC on Sunday. Rajasthan United, who were riding high after a 4-0 demolition of Real Kashmir, were outplayed and remain fifth with 24 points. From the opening whistle, Churchill Brothers asserted dominance, pressing high and dictating the tempo. Dias was electric on the left flank, constantly unsettling Rajasthan’s backline with his pace and movement. Moments later, Dias set up Rafiq Aminu, but the Ghanaian forward couldn’t make clean contact.
