Margao

Writer and former legislator Uday Bhembre on Saturday filed a complaint at the Fatorda police station claiming that a group of people led by Viraj Dessai “trespassed into my property, abused and threatened me at my residence”.

Bhembre  was reluctant to file police complaint on Friday after the incident but changed his decision on Saturday.

It may be noted that on Friday Bajrang Dal activists, along with other right-wing organisations, staged a protest outside Bhembre’s house in Margao over his remarks on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Several Konkani groups from across the state have condemned the incident and have called for a meeting today.
