With good coffee and great food, Paz Goa, Vagator, is the kind
of cafe you’ll keep coming back to
RAMANDEEP KAUR | NT BUZZ
Just a short walk from the beach, Paz Cafe in Vagator exudes a relaxed and peaceful vibe, away from the crowd. Named ‘Paz’—which means ‘peace’ in Spanish—the cafe has a European-inspired aesthetic.
Last week, my friend and I were hosted here, and we were impressed by their extensive menu. The beverage selection includes hot and iced coffees, teas, kombucha, refreshing juices, coolers, and shakes. For hot coffee (premium 100% Arabica beans is used), they offer vegan milk options and a caramel flavour.
The food menu features all-day breakfast, smoothie bowls, sandwiches, wraps, pizzas, pastas, and rice bowls, along with small plates like peri-peri fries, hummus platters, and garlic bread.
Known for its sandwiches, coffee, and pasta, the cafe’s bestsellers include the Pesto Chicken Sandwich and Classic Cold Frappe. It also serves healthy rice bowls, created with help from founder Komal Bhatia’s dietician, catering to various dietary needs, including vegan and Jain options.
For our food sojourn, I began with an orange juice, and my friend opted for a Cafe Mocha. When it came to smoothie bowls, we were torn. A staff member recommended the Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter smoothie bowl—and he nailed it. This rich and creamy blend of chocolate, banana, and peanut butter, topped with granola, chia seeds, chocolate chunks, and fresh banana slices, disappeared in no time. As a smoothie bowl newbie, this one quickly became a favourite.
Next, we couldn’t resist checking out the ‘Eggstraordinary’ section of the menu, which, as you might have guessed, is all about egg-centric dishes. Being mushroom lovers, we chose the Mushroom Omelette, available with or without cheese. Naturally, we went for the cheesy version. The result? A fluffy, delicious omelette filled with mushrooms and gooey cheese, accompanied by sliced veggies and two small slices of bread.
We then moved on to the Pink Sauce Pasta. The pasta was cooked to perfection, with fresh veggies and a creamy, tangy sauce with just the right amount of spice.
Every Friday, the cafe has a special Goan menu curated by Star Fish Beach Shack. I opted for the Fish Fingers—golden and perfectly crunchy—while my friend savoured the Prawns Resois, which were creamy, rich, and crisp.
The cafe is a popular spot for late-night coffee, cocktails, and live music from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays. It is open until 1 a.m. on weekends.
Their dessert menu is also filled with irresistible options, including Chocolate Walnut Brownie with Chocolate Sauce, Affogato, Banana Split with three scoops of ice cream, and Sizzling Brownie with three scoops of ice cream. We treated ourselves to the Chocolate Walnut Brownie and Affogato. These were rich, indulgent, and the perfect way to end our meal.
