Panaji

Vaishistha Behl delivered a sensational all-round performance to help Sunshine Worldwide HS, Old Goa clinch a narrow five-run win over Don Bosco HS, Panaji in the U-14 President Cup clash at Panaji.

Batting first, Sunshine were bowled out for 216 in 33 overs, with Vaishistha playing a stunning lone hand — smashing 135 runs in a masterclass of timing and temperament. Vardhan Behl chipped in with a handy 24, but Don Bosco’s Elijan Britto (3/22) and Aryan Bhonsle (2/35) kept the innings in check.

Chasing 217, Don Bosco were in the hunt till the very end, thanks to vital contributions from Ronaldo Sallagunia (37), Elijan (34), Aditya (33), and Aryan (26). But Sunshine’s bowlers held their nerve, with Izzan Khan leading the charge with 4/41. He was ably supported by Prem Bandekar (2/33), Vansh Ajgaonkar (2/40), and Vaishistha (2/34), who capped off a brilliant outing.
