Srinivasa Sinai Dempo College of Commerce and Economics (Autonomous) has announced the introduction of AI-based personal interviews for admissions to its Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programme.

“We have become the first undergraduate institution in India to implement such a system,” said Principal Dr. Manoj Kamat. The college reported a five-fold increase in applications for the 2025 academic year.  The Dempo BBA programme, which was the first in Goa to offer AI and Analytics as a specialisation, also offers dual specialisations including AI and Fintech, AI and Marketing Analytics, and AI and HR Analytics.

According to the college, the AI interview system assesses candidates on academic aptitude, communication skills, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence. It analyses responses, tone, clarity, and problem-solving abilities to minimise human bias and maintain objectivity in the selection process.

The AI platform simulates real-world scenarios to test candidates’ ability to articulate ideas and respond under pressure. The system also provides real-time feedback to assist in evaluating applicants.

“This is a transformative step for Dempo BBA and Indian education,” said Kamat. “Our AI-based interviews reflect our commitment to innovation, fairness, and excellence. We are not just selecting students; we are shaping the next generation of CEOs, entrepreneurs, and innovators who will thrive in an AI-driven world.”

Applicants will receive details by email to schedule their computer-based entrance test and AI-based personal interview. Shrinivas Dempo, Chairman of Dempo Charities Trust, said that Dempo BBA is setting new trends in business education.
