Giving a boost to professional education in the state, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday announced that a pharmacy college will soon be set up in Sankhali.
Speaking at the inauguration of the transformative initiative ‘Career Udaan – Empowering Youth for a Brighter Tomorrow’ launched by the Goa State Council of Higher Education, the Chief Minister said there are many opportunities available in the educational sector, and that students who develop skills can get 100 per cent employment. We have started various courses in colleges in Sankhali with the aim of ensuring 100 per cent job opportunities.
Sawant provided guidance to students on various courses, giving detailed information about the types of skills expected to be developed and the courses available.
The Chief Minister also dwelt on careful consideration while choosing a career, adding that that proper guidance is important when one takes important steps towards future.
Along with Career Udaan, the ‘Career Compass Handbook’ has been launched and distributed in schools and libraries in Goa, which will serve as a comprehensive career guide to expose students, parents and teachers to emerging sectors and opportunities, the Chief Minister said.
“Career Udaan is just the beginning. With plans to reach every taluka, it will provide a platform to uplift, guide and empower the youth of Goa. Together, we are determined to create a confident, skilled generation ready to realise the dreams of developed India 2047 and developed Goa 2037,” Sawant said.
