They beat Ambelim SC 5-4 via tie-breaker

Chinchinim: Navelim Sporting Club booked their spot in the final of the Anil Kamat Memorial Football Tournament after defeating Ambelim Sports Club 5-4 in a penalty shootout at Chinchinim ground on Monday.

Both teams came out strong, with Michael Silva testing Navelim keeper Mehboob Hussain early. Joyson Coutinho and Prestly Gomes responded for Navelim, but Ambelim goalkeeper Ozen Silva was sharp. Navelim were reduced to ten men in the 20th minute after Velon Rebello received a red card, but they remained competitive, with Ronaldo Pereira forcing another good save.

Ambelim dominated possession and created more chances, with Michael Silva and Desmond Fernandes both denied by Mehboob. Despite the pressure, Navelim held on, and the match moved to penalties.

Ronaldo Pereira, Venito Costa, Noha Luis, Prestly Gomes, and Myron Gomes converted for Navelim. Ambelim netted only four out of five penalties, which saw them exit the tournament and miss out for a spot in the final.

Michael Silva was awarded the Man of the Match.
