Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said Goa was able to get a large share of the central financial assistance through different sectors due to the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. He said the fund included approximately Rs 4,000 crore of the GST state share in five years and Rs 33,000 crore as direct spending of the Centre towards state infrastructure such as the national-level projects during the last 10 years.
Speaking to ‘The Navhind Times’, the Chief Minister said that he has further revised the state loans by converting the high interest loans into low interest ones. Sawant said, “My motto is that the vision of the honourable Prime Minister should pass on to the last person in the community.”
“Antyoday, Sarvoday and Gramoday are, therefore, close to my concept of working,” he said, pointing out, “I launched Swayampurna Goa only to follow all the schemes of the Narendra Modi government under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, and take their benefit to Goa and Goans.”
The Chief Minister also said that Modi has brought major economic reforms in the country taking the global economic power of India from a fragile economy on the 10th spot to the fourth position, and now vying for the third. “I would also like to mention here that Modiji managed to take Yog and AYUSH to 180 countries, thus giving to the world philosophy of ancient India,” he said.
