Ritualistic ceremonies, including the reinstallation of the idol of Shree Ram and the prathishthapana (consecration) of the Shikhar Kalash (temple pinnacle), were held on Friday at Shree Sansthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math in the Canacona

taluka.

The events, marking the 550th anniversary celebrations of the math, were held in the presence of Shree Vidyadheesh Teerth Swamiji, head of the math, who performed the puja and other rituals.

Math president Shrinivas Dempo, vice-president R R Kamath, Public Works Minister Digambar Kamat, Pallavi Dempo, Shivanand Salgaocar, and others attended the event.

Swamiji will inaugurate the Shree Veer Vitthal temple, Nutan Vaidic Complex, Indirakant Bhavan, and goshala on November 10.

Preparations are underway for the grand 550th anniversary celebrations, with the math having undergone complete renovation.

The Shree Ram Digvijay Chariot Yatra will arrive at Partagali Math on November 26.

The festival, including religious and cultural programmes, will take place from November 27 to December 7.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the math on November 28 to unveil one of the country’s tallest statues of Lord Ram, standing at 77 feet, in the presence of Shree Vidyadheesh Teerth Swamiji.

The math was established in the 13th century under the Dvaita order of Jagadguru Madhvacharya.
