Chief Minister Pramod Sawant hailed the BJP’s electoral victory in Bihar, saying the people had delivered a strong message that they preferred development over the “chaos of jungle raj”.
Speaking to the media on Friday afternoon at the BJP office in Margao, where ministers, MLAs, party leaders and supporters gathered to celebrate, Sawant said the residents of Bihar had kept their word in helping realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
“The citizens of our nation stand united with PM Modi. This electoral outcome unequivocally indicates that the people of Bihar prioritise development over the disorder of jungle raj,” he said. He said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had emphasised infrastructure and human-resource development, which the public embraced. Sawant said that the people of Goa also prefer a double-engine government and that they recognise the development that is taking place while casting their votes. “I am confident that the citizens of Goa will rally behind the BJP in the upcoming elections, including the Zilla Panchayat and Municipal elections and assembly election,” he said.
BJP Goa president Damodar ‘Damu’ Naik said the Goa Chief Minister’s campaigning in Bihar had borne “significant fruit”, and added that citizens acknowledged the progress made under Modi’s leadership.
Minister for Water Resources Subhash Shirodkar said the Prime Minister envisioned a progressive nation by 2047 and was working towards that goal. “These election results serve as a testament to the progress achieved in Bihar under the stewardship of Modi and Kumar,” he said.
Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar said voters in Bihar had “decisively rejected” the Congress and the RJD, opting instead for the BJP. “I am confident that the people of Goa will apply the same standards in the forthcoming elections,” he said. Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Dessai criticised the Congress for alleging electoral malpractice and “vote-chori narratives”. “The people of Bihar delivered a resounding rebuttal to the opposition through these election results,” he said, commending the national BJP leadership
