Two Navhind journalists bag awards forhealth & education on National Press dayawardees on National Press Day

The Navhind Times bagged two awards at the Goa Journalist Awards 2025 function held to mark National Press Day on Monday.

Christine Machado and Ramandeep Kaur of The Navhind Times received awards at the hands of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for Reporting in Public Health and Hygiene, and Education, respectively.

The other award winners are: Pandurang Gaonkar (Best Editor Award on national integration and communal harmony), Ajay Buva (rural reporting), Vibha Verma (reporting with special reference to women and children/social issue), Marcus Mergulhao (sports reporting), Gauree Malkarnekar (reporting on art and culture), Rajtilak Naik (photojournalism – Best Photograph of the Year), and Sameep Narvekar (reporting on achievements of the government).

On the occasion of National Press Day, the Chief Minister also presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to veteran cartoonist Alexyz (Alex Fernandes).

Senior photojournalist Nandesh Kambli of The Navhind Times, Baban Bhagat of Navprabha, Joel Afonso, editor of The Goan Everyday, Jai Naik of Tarun Bharat and Atul Pandit of Bhaangarbhuim were felicitated for their long contribution to journalism.
