India’s men’s futsal team will begin their SAFF Futsal Championship campaign against Bangladesh at the Nonthaburi Stadium today.

Head coach Reza Kordi, said the team’s focus is on competitiveness and long-term growth. “Our aim is to be competitive in every match, show progress in our playing style, and establish India as a strong emerging team in South Asian futsal,” he said.

India began preparations a month ago in Bengaluru, followed by a week-long camp in Thailand with two friendly matches. “Tactically, physically and mentally, our players are ready for the competition,” Kordi added, while thanking SAFF and the Football Association of Thailand for hosting the tournament.

“The team is better organised, stronger physically, and has a clearer understanding of futsal. Our biggest strength is the collective mentality,” said Kordi.

Captain Nikhil Mali said the team is confident and eager to apply lessons from recent international experience. “We promise to play with heart and pride and deliver a strong performance for our fans,” he said.

Kick-off @ 3.30 p.m.
