Stating that strong organisation of the Bharatiya Janata Party running from booth level to state level is key to developing Goa and making the nation stronger, BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Saturday said BJP must work across all sectors ahead of the 2027 assembly elections so as to ensure 50 per cent votes at every booth during the elections.
Addressing a huge gathering of party workers and functionaries at the Taleigao community centre, he urged them to intensify efforts across all sectors and regions to strengthen the party organisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
Emphasising on unity and grassroots-level work, Nabin said that a strong organisational structure from booth to state level is essential to take party’s ideology and development agenda to every household.
“A stable government is crucial for achieving the vision of a developed
Goa,” he added.
The newly-elected BJP chief also pointed to the initiatives such as the Mhaje Ghar Yojana and ongoing development programmes as the indicators of the state’s progress, while stressing that sustained efforts are required to realise the goal of a developed state by 2047.
Highlighting Goa’s economic growth, Nabin said the state’s per capita income has increased significantly from Rs 1.12 lakh in 2014 to around Rs 3 lakh in 2023–24.
He attributed the growth to focused development and improved infrastructure, including two operational airports, expanding expressways, national highways, and newly-constructed flyovers.
Nabin said this transformed image of Goa must be effectively conveyed to people, adding that sovereignty ultimately lies with citizens whose support strengthens the party.
He underlined that continuous organisational work helps expand the BJP’s reach, reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s belief that when villages and the poor grow stronger, BJP grows stronger, strengthening both the state and the nation.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in his speech claimed that under his leadership, he managed to shut the migrant influx in Goa in the last five years. While acknowledging that migrants from other states as well as Nepal arrived in Goa in search of jobs, he said that this trend has stopped now.
He expressed confidence that the newly-appointed BJP chief would ensure that the Prime Minister is re-elected to the post in 2029.
He also heaped praises on party workers, stating that the BJP’s victory during the zilla panchayat polls in Goa reflected the belief of the common man, believing in his government and its policies.
Sawant said the BJP will win elections to all municipalities scheduled this year, and thereafter retain power in the state in 2027.
The Chief Minister also said the Griha Aadhar scheme for women, the Dayanand Social Security Scheme for senior citizens, and funds for startups by the youth via skill and apprenticeship schemes will propel BJP to win the elections next year.
He said these schemes were introduced to ensure an all-round development for Goa, with the citizens being the prime focus.
The Chief Minister also remembered his mentor, late Manohar Parrikar for implementing some of these schemes during his tenure as the chief minister.
Speaking on the occasion, state BJP president Damodar ‘Damu’ Naik claimed that there is not a single cabinet minister in his party who has a stain of corruption levelled against him in any scam.
He also shared his resolution to win 27 seats at the 2027 Goa assembly polls.
Union Minister Shripad Naik, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, Minister for Panchayati Raj Mauvin Godinho, Minister for Public Works Digambar Kamat, Minister for Art and Culture Ramesh Tawadkar, and BJP parliamentarian Sadanand Tanawade were present for the gathering among others.
