FC Goa will look to extend their promising start to the Indian Super League 2025–26 season when they face East Bengal FC at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata today.

The Gaurs have made an encouraging start to the campaign, collecting seven points from their opening three matches to sit third in the standings. With momentum building early in the season, another positive result away from home would further consolidate their position near the top of the table.

However, FC Goa will be without forward Muhammad Nemil, who has been ruled out for a period after suffering a cheekbone injury. Head coach Manolo Marquez had confirmed the setback ahead of the previous fixture, meaning the squad will need to adjust as they navigate a demanding stretch of matches.

Speaking ahead of three consecutive away fixtures, Marquez stressed that his side remains comfortable playing on the road.

“In both my seasons here we did the same points both home and away. Of course we prefer playing at home in front of our home crowd but the team has been competitive both home and away and we are looking forward to play in Kolkata day after tomorrow in front of crowd that is probably one of the biggest in the country,” said Marquez.

Forward Abdul Rabeeh also shared his excitement about representing the club, describing FC Goa as one of his favourite teams while growing up and highlighting the influence Marquez has had on his career.

East Bengal FC head into the fixture looking to respond after defeat in their previous outing. Backed by their passionate supporters at the VYBK, the Kolkata side will aim to bounce back and make home advantage count.
