South Goa Collector and District Election Officer (DEO) Egna Cleetus on Tuesday said that 45 polling booths have been set up across the Ponda constituency and 54 teams of polling personnel have been constituted for the by-election
scheduled on April 9.

Speaking to the media after the third round of randomisation of polling personnel, conducted in the presence of General Observer Pooja Parth, Cleetus said the process was carried out with
full transparency.

She said the final list of polling personnel assigned to their respective booths was generated through randomisation software, sealed and will be followed by issuance of formal deployment orders.

Cleetus said a total of 270 polling
personnel will report on April 8 to the returning officer. She added that Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will then be dispatched to the designated polling
stations with all safeguards in place and in strict compliance with the directives of the Election
Commission of India.

She reiterated that all arrangements are being made to ensure smooth and transparent conduct of the by-election.
